Default The Mirmillo

Hello every1 this is my first thread, and i'm going to start with a concept class on which i have been working and i would appreciate it to first read it entirely before commenting thx.

How to incorporate this into Guild Wars?
The beasty charr-race has captured ascalonian and krytan soldiers, and now they use them to fight in their gigantic arenas against all sorts of things.
The gladiators become so dangerous that the Charr can not control them anymore. More and more manage to make their escape, after escaping they form plundering raiding groups who use their superior battle techniques to ravage the Charr-homeland. The mirmillo's are harsh men, where the stronger rule the weaker, they fight only for themselves, and maybe can not be trusted...

The mirmillo is a melee-based character inspired by the mirmillo gladiators in ancient Rome. He fights with a thrytand and a kind of fishnet and his main role is to trap multiple people with his net and then thrust with his thrytand to keep enemies away from his allies. He can also use 'barriers' to protect/damage allies/enemies but this i'll discuss later.
Also the mirmillo can perform 'thrusts', this is simply a knockdown which also pushes the enemy away for ~5 meters

AL 70+10 against physical?
30 base energy with 3 pips of energy regen

Weapons, Thrytand (a kind of spear with 3 spikes at the tip) 9-41 damage, same speed as scythe and 1-handed. This weapon deals pierce damage
Net, focus item, grants a resistance against blunt, slash, or pierce damage
and just like arrows it will be refreshed when thrown

Also the mirmillo introduces a new skilltype called ' barrier'; u should see a barrier as a kind of transparent pyramid which covers a small area and every ally/enemy who is in it gets a certain enhancement but that same ally/enemy may also step out of it

Attributes:
Morale (primary attribute):
for every point u invest in morale u gain 8 extra max. health and this affects all skills linked to morale

Thrytand mastery:
For each point u invest in this attribute u get a higher chance to crit, this also affects all skills linked to thrytand mastery

Net mastery:
this affects all skills linked to net mastery

Strategy:
This attribute mainly concerns the use of barriers and other skills tied to this attribute

Animation
-The animation for a mirmillo casting a spell should be slamming his thrytand on his chest

-The net should be animated just like the corsair nets.

Appearance
Mirmillos wear poor but flexible armor, (a bit like the (15k)glads armor for warriors), and they wear amazing helmets.

Finally i'd like to say that some things may be 'overpowered' and that this may look a lot like the paragon but actually it is very different. Plz give me some advice and what u think of it

thx in advance

I rather like the concept. I recall learning about that kind of gladiator, and a net is a neat idea. Kind of like how the corsair has a net.

For a first post, it's not bad, and it's not as overpowered as some concept classes I've seen. The armor level seems good, as well as the energy regen, but I would think that the base energy should be a bit lower.

Morale is a decent idea for a primary attribute, but I would suggest less than 8 more health per rank, maybe 4 or 6.

very nice, I haven't made a class that's that good (I've only made like 3 and they all were pretty bad). I love the idea for the class, the spear would be cool and the net would be fun

Its not a bad concept. One concern is that it might step on the toe of Warrior a bit.

I like the Barrier skills. The Moral is also a good attribute to have (esepcially if you build in other Moral effecting skills into it) Net seem a bit weak to exist as an attribute of its own. Feel mix about Thrytand, as while it is a weapon fit with the theme, and such class need a melee weapon, just don't feel they are special enough to be a type of its own. One possiblity is to combine both Net and Thrytand (as well as other gladiatorial weapons) into a Gladiator Attribute. Also Fist attribute might work in a Pit-fighter personal.

LaserLight's Pit Fighter CC might be interesting to look at too

You might want to Lower the Morale to
"For each rank of Morale, You gain an Additional 5 Maximum Health"
I think it is Overpowered^^.
And Question, I don't know what Role does this CC take,
Healer, Nuker, Spiker, Shutdown or Etc.
Try adding skills to show what is it^^.

Thx for all the constructive critism, and as for some of the ideas

I agree that morale gives too much max health, but i rlly do think the net should have its own attribute because u can do so many things with it:
throw it from distances, use it as a kind of protection, and i would like to add that the net gives a kind of standard condition just like with the corsairs' net.
As for the role the mirmillo fullfills should be something like a paragon but then in close-combat so he can push people away with his thrytand, barriers can also possibly hinder enemies.

Here are some skills:
5E 15 sec rech 'Titans thrust': Thrust your thrytand at the enemy and deal +0-30 damage and that foe is knocked down and pushed back 2-5 metres
15E 30 sec rech 'Explosive barrier': Create a barrier at your location for 4-8 secs, every enemy in that barrier takes 50 fire damage/2 seconds
(Elite skill) 10E 45 sec rech 'Confidence is Power': for 5-20 secs you can not be knocked down and everytime you strike a foe that foe is pushed back 2-4 metres
(Elite skill) 15E 20rech 'Field Barrier': u create a barrier around every ally in your team including yourself which grants a 5 seconds +40 armor bonus against elemental and physical damage
